Your Great Green Places

National Building Museum Created by National Building Museum

What makes great public spaces work? And what makes some public spaces “greener” than others? The National Building Museum’s Great Green Places video series looks at the specific elements that make certain public spaces so successful.

Now it’s your turn to tell us about the great green places near you!

You can use the Museum’s green criteria—sense of place, streetscape, landscape, transit options, and mixed use—to evaluate the spaces or you can create your own! Upload your 5-6 minute video to “Your Great Green Places” group and educate people about a successful public space near you.

As an added incentive, the Museum will feature the top videos—selected by Museum staff and also based on video viewership—on our homepage for two weeks at a time. The top three videos will also be screened as part of the museum’s participation in the March, 2010 Environmental Film Festival.

Submit your video by February 15, 2010 for a chance to be selected for live screening as part of the Museum's participation in the DC Environmental Film Festival in March 2010. Judged by audience response and Museum staff, the top three film submissions will also be featured on the homepage of the Museum's web site for two weeks each in the spring of 2010.
