1. MARBLE ARCH - CASCADES CAVE SYSTEMS CONNECTION.

2. Route to Green Lake sump*, the northernmost limit of exploration in Marble Arch, 1km underground from the entrance.

*sump or siphon - fully submerged cave passage within a dry cave system

3. BREAKTHROUGH

In November 2010 after multiply attempts the Green Lake sump that prevented further exploration in Marble Arch for over 40 years has been eventually passed (was passed). Beyond, a beautifully decorated but technically difficult virgin cave passage named Swann's Way led north towards Cascades system.

4. THE FINAL PUSH - December 22nd
Fairytale like Swann's Way ended up in yet another extremely tight sump. It finally went on a 4th attempt after leaving helmet, fins and one of the cylinders behind, on the Marble Arch side. GoPro camera mounted on the helmet registered diver's return after forging the connection with Cascades system.

5. The connected Marble Arch and Cascades systems totalled 9km (extended by Artur to 12km seven months later) and constituted second the longest cave system in Ireland
