Bellarmine College Preparatory will hold its 38th Golden Bell Auction on Saturday, March 29. This year’s event theme is “An Evening in Roma,” and the night will begin with a silent auction during the hors d’oeuvre and cocktail reception, provided by A Catered Affair, followed by fine dining prepared by executive chef Jim Stump; chefs Marty Cattaneo and Philippe Breneman, both of whom are Bellarmine alumni from the Class of 1997; and the Bellarmine culinary staff.
KRTY Radio morning personality Gary Scott Thomas will be auctioneer for the live auction, featuring many unique items, including a concert and “meet and greet” with Country Music superstar Blake Shelton; San Francisco Giants jersey autographed by 48 Giants stars, from Mays and McCovey to Bonds and Clark; and fabulous dining experiences at some of the South Bay’s premiere establishments.
“We are pulling out all the stops to provide a fun and entertaining evening for Golden Bell attendees,” said Brian Christensen, Bellarmine’s Director of Development & Alumni Special Projects who, along with volunteer event chair Claudia DeNuccio, is managing the event. “Guests will enjoy a wonderful party with a great purpose.”
Proceeds from the Golden Bell Auction benefit Bellarmine College Prep’s Direct Financial Aid Fund. With 25 percent of Bellarmine’s 1,600 students receiving tuition assistance, the school’s financial aid budget this academic year is $4 million.
The 38th Golden Bell Auction will take place in the Patrick Wayne Valley Memorial Gymnasium on the Bellarmine campus, 960 West Hedding Street, San Jose. For details and reservations, visit online: bcp.org/goldenbell.
