This home is designed is for a homeless Vietnam Veteran, Ray Black, forgotten by a nation and dismissed by our healthcare system. Ray needs to live in a place that the sound can drown out the voices of guilt raining in his head.
In place of his current cardboard stack home under an interstate, Mr. Black replaces this home with a newly structured one. Mr. Black's new home is made of scrap metal from a recently demolished steel mill. Ray welded the shell himself, with the help of a local scrap yard, and insulated the interior with found cardboard boxes. The house is suspended from a local underpass in Chattanooga, TN.
