How do you teach someone to write well? At Hood, English faculty members like Professors Trevor Dodman and Amy Gottfried use a method that is practical as well as exciting, but most importantly, it really works! Through class discussions, small-group peer workshops and one-on-one conferences with professors, students are taught to analyze their own compositions and are provided with the tools they need to write succinctly and creatively.
Whether drafting a paper for a chemistry class, composing essays for graduate school applications or creating technical reports for work, knowing how to write well is an important life skill. Students rave about the results!
