"After two long months of post-production, red carpet material is completed. You might ask yourself, why so long in post-production? I'm glad you asked! Let me explain myself to everyone.
For those who don't know, the lead singer fled the scene on day two. The first day we shot the green screen, then on day two, our goal was to shot the whole story. Well, I get a call from the label telling me that Todd is no where to be found. They also shared some interesting facts that explain why he went M.I.A. That is something I can not share with you though. But, if you watch the video, I did leave a subliminal message of the main reason why he left. That's all I'm saying for now.
So, here I am stuck in post-production with visuals that can not be put together (make a story) what so ever. Most directors would of left this project behind and move on. Well, I wasn't going to, because 70% of the budget has already been spent and it's an Universal project. With left over funding ($$$$) I had for post, it wasn't going to help me out if I wanted to approach this using visual effects. Here I am in post-production thinking about new ideas to finish this story. I wrote a new treatment (adding the dailies that I already had into the concept) and pitched it to Universal and Mighty Loud Records.
Mind you, I also had to put together another detail budget of why I needed more dollar signs added to the post-production process. Soon enough, I get call from the label; they approved the idea and the budget. So, with that budget, I found a professional post-house facility base out of Atlanta, Georgia; RGBtv Inc.
These guys saved my ass. Even though the budget wasn't enough for the idea I wanted to do, John (CEO of RGBtv Inc) said that he will make it work with his team. The only way it would get done would be to have a working period of one in half months. Of course I agreed to that. So did the labels. In the mist of all of this, I was producing a music video in Vegas that featured Lloyd and in development for a commercial for NWA (National Wrestling Alliance).
Even though this isn't my best work, the labels were damn near impress (Universal / Mighty Loud) that the music video was finally completed. The amount of loops that I had to jump through to complete this video.
This could of looked great if Todd (lead singer) did not flee the scene. There was to many problems with lighting which lead me to have a short range for color correction. I felt like I didn't get the full (Sharp/Richness) quality from the RED Camera either.
NEVER AGAIN, WILL THIS HAPPEN!"
BIG THANKS TO:
Frank Geremia - and your team!!! [ Art Director]
Jonathan Sargent [RGBtv Inc - Visual Effects Team]
Adam Plouff [RGBtv Inc - Visual Effects Team]
Edward Jensen [Jib Operator]
Marcus "M Kutta" Small [Editor]
These guys stuck through it no matter what happen during or after production. Thanks guys.
