ITP Introduction to Computational Media / 052210-052310 Techcrunch Disrupt Hack Day
We've developed an API and physical device that can turn anything with a power cord into a networked object. It's part of an effort to fill the gap between "smart" and low-tech devices, so that, for example, your grandma could use her toaster to communicate with loved ones. Or, when it's time, you're desk lamp could order itself new lightbulbs! We're calling this a social network for everyday objects because you can use an online dashboard to create unique profiles for different objects in your house and connect them to a variety of web services.
