Kurye Video

In Impressions, I use an orange cylinder to make classic High Renaissance circular shapes on the leather surface. However, my actions are done in futility. Each time I press this cylinder into the leather, it's imprint quickly fades and is soon part of the past. An impression of a circle is made, but the impression soon becomes etiolated. I continuously create small traces of circular perfection. Yet, the perfection is not true. It is just a mold of perfection. As a viewer watches Impressions they will notice that eventually each time I attempt to create this image of perfection, creases and cracks form in the leather. Thus, creating more and more imperfections. Also, images start being formed. Organic and abstract shapes continuously appear and then change their configuration, canceling each other out. Eventually, I create my impression on the leather with my hand, only for it's existence to fade away into time itself.
