The Reclink Community Cup is a charity Aussie Rules match between musicians (“The Rockdogs”) and community radio representatives from PBS and Triple R (“The Megahertz”) . Now it it's twentieth year, it will take place at Elsternwick Park on June 24.

It’ll feature performances by reformed ’80s punk band Blue Ruin (fronted by SLAM’s Quincy McLean and original member Mulaim Vela. This version of Blue Ruin is like a SUPERGROUP, with JP Shilo and Wally Meanie on bass, Jack Howard on trumpet and on drums is former Bad Seed and revered, Mick Harvey). Boomgates (featuring members of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Dick Diver and The Twerps) played the half time set. Melbourne rock outfit Bunny Monroe and SYN FM Free Kick competition winner, Drunk Mums got the party rocking. In keeping with this year’s theme, “Can The Mega’s Do The Dogs”, all bands will perform a song by The Cramps. See my HD Videos to see which CRAMPS songs got performed by which band.

Last year’s Community Cup was a walkover by The Rockdogs, who ran out 35-point winners over The Megahertz. The event drew an estimated 12,000 people, with more than $200,000 raised for Reclink, an organisation that uses sport and the arts to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage.
A final act will be announced after the annual SYN FM Free Kick competition is held. Entry to this year’s cup was $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Live music starts at midday. In the commentary box, we have Tony Biggs (Triple R FM), Ruari Currin (3PBS FM) and Leapin' Larry L (Triple R FM).

This is now the forth year that I have asked to be the official photographs for this amazing event. I had released a couple of HD Videos and about 1000 photographs even before the first ball was bounced in the middle of the oval! Check out the various photo galleries on the number one aussie music website, TONE DEAF and also on various Facebook pages and on my Twitter feed.

The night before The Community Cup, I got asked to do a radio show on Triple R on LIVEWIRE with Pauly P and Jarrad Kennedy (two Megahertz players). I got to spin an ultra rare CRAMPS recording and play some of my FAV tunes and have a chinwag about the game. On the show I said that the final score was going to be a DRAW and bloody was!!! GOOD GAME MEGAHERTZ & ROCKDOGS & ALL OF THE BANDS PLAYING. The BIG winner is MELBOURNE and RECLINK!

Megahertz 4.11.35
Rockdogs 5.5.35
