I was very impressed by The Fearless Vampire Killers from the first time that I saw them play. Killer guitar licks and some really cool tunes! That was at The Boroughs Culture & Music Festival is a national event inspired by the underground culture of the five boroughs of New York, where New York Dolls headlined. Since then I have seen them play around Melbourne Rock Central with support slots for The Sunnyboys, Kasabian, The Hives and The Mars Volta. They went on to record a killer album called "Batmania" at my good friend's joint, The Demons Parade's Michael Badger's studio.
It was sad to hear the news that The Fearless Vampire Killers were breaking up and playing their last ever gigs at Yah Yah's in Collingwood. WTF! NOOOOO! I popped down after photographing The Drones at The Forum and capture of their magic, one last fuggin' time.
This is the part where I normally say, check out their website BUT HEY! They have broken up, so what is the point! INSERT SADFACE EMOTICON! :(
