Narcoleptic Videographer

Adam O. Thomas Created by Adam O. Thomas

The filmmaking collective from Vancouver, BC, Canada began in the fall of 1999. Founded by Kevin Spenst, Braden Jones, Adam O. Thomas and Chris Bizzocchi, The Narcoleptic Videographer started as a way for a derelict group of filmmakers, writers and actors to keep busy and make some movies. Inspired by the initial success of their first collective effort, which saw an entire short film devised, shot and edited in a single day, the group - Team Narko - then spent every weekend for months pulling their ideas out of their collective minds and putting them on to screens both big and small.

Over the next 5 years the team honed their skills by making over 30 short films and added exceptional members Eliza Murbach, Josh Lindstrom and Jesse Waldman. The films were then organized and screened at the venerable Blinding Light Cinema as an annual series of sold out film programmes that blended live performance and film screenings.

Since the closing of the Blinding Light, the team has continued to make films and has had their work broadcast on CBC television, and has been screened at independent film festivals around the world.

Blending visceral cinematography, inspired editing and largely improvised dialogue, The Narcoleptic Videographer is vortex of strange comedic timing that is sometimes surreal, often odd and always original. Enjoy!
