There was really almost no wind at all in the valley. As i was passing by, i took a short side trip up to the Bwlch mountain, I checked out the slopes, the directions of the slopes and found the one facing the prevaling wind (what little there was). There was so little that the windmills were not even turning. But after a some walking to explore the area, i chucked off. The light SW wind put me on Mickeys.
There were some good thermals and the corresponding sink. Some hasty landings were required at times. But the ridge provided some decent lift, even in the low wind strength. Sometimes the best sloping is when you make the effort but least expect it to be good!
Watch out for the rolling circle gone wrong on this one, the smooth grassy landing zones and of course the superb scenery.
