A great postcard doesn't just say, 'Wish you were here', it tells a story about where you are, what you're doing and what is special or interesting to you. A video postcard captures the essence of a traditional postcard but transforms it for the digital age and allows you to share your story with more people. It can also be a simple way to connect with people and places across the country.

Pick a place that's special. It might have a great story, or be a part of the world you've been going to for years. Or you could make your postcard about a great experience you've already documented in

A great postcard doesn't just say, 'Wish you were here', it tells a story about where you are, what you're doing and what is special or interesting to you. A video postcard captures the essence of a traditional postcard but transforms it for the digital age and allows you to share your story with more people. It can also be a simple way to connect with people and places across the country.

Pick a place that's special. It might have a great story, or be a part of the world you've been going to for years. Or you could make your postcard about a great experience you've already documented in video (like Postcard from the Reef - see below).

For this project, you have two options:

1. You can create a video postcard that's made for anyone and everyone. Here's an example called Postcard from the Reef that shares an amazing experience of a dive on the Barrier Reef.

OR

2. You can make a new connection with someone online and direct yours to someone who has already made one. Kind of like an online pen pal using video.

For example, Jo made Postcard from the Golden Maroochy River which inspired Gemma, who replied with her postcard, Love from a muddy river. A connection was made between two different places and people in Queensland, the common thread being that they're both about hanging out at a local river.

Sounds like fun? Well it's also really easy to do. Video postcards are simple enough to make on a smart-phone but interesting enough for all skill levels.
