Photorealistic CG Animations & VFX

This is my first complete test with RealFlow 2013 beta. A mud flood type of scene, while discovering the new workflow procedures of RealFlow 2013...

RealFlow 2013 is leaps and bounds ahead of any previous version, can compete now in equal terms with all competition regarding FLIP-type fluid simulations utilizing CPUs and GPUs simultaneously, plus has the extra benefit regarding ultra-detailed small scale particle fluid simulations...

This test scene had a Hybrido2 domain of 40 million particles, along with 70 million Foam particles, at the most heavy frames, which were actually all frames of the sequence, after frame 30 or so. Simulation times were about 36 hours for the grid domain and about 60 hours for Splash and Foam Secondaries. The thing is that half of that time was wasted writing files on a 3TB slow WD green hard disk. Grid domain was saved in BIN and PRT file formats, that ranged from 1 to 2GB per frame. Foam was saved in BIN and PRT as well and those files ranged from 1 to 10GB per frame! The whole project occupied almost 2TB of disk space! And those files took their sweet time to read and write down unfortunately, adding to the total sim time...

Grid domain mesh had around 6 million polygons per frame. Rendering took about 120 hours using 3dsMax and VRay. All ran on a single i7-3930K workstation with a GTX680 and 64GB ram. Unfortunately, foam simulation pass was not used in final render, due to limited time constrains for this test, but you can see the foam result in the RealFlow's OpenGL preview sequences...
