I made this film for the 48 Hour Film Challenge. As you may know, you have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a film. On the day of the shoot our team was given the following criteria:
Genre: Dark Comedy
Character: Harrison Couburn - Bartender
Prop: Scissors
So friday night we get our assignment and I drive up to a friends cottage (thanks Sanjeev and Lopa) and meet up with our key actors. We brain storm for a few hours and do our first outdoor scene at 1am. We wrap at 3am and get up at 8am to continue our shoot. I asked family and friends to come up to the set and bring lots of food. We essentially use this party like setting as part of the script. Somehow our script actually came together to the credit of the talented actors (and family members that I didn't know could act!) I got a a few hours of sleep and headed home to do the daunting task of editing. Naturally, finessing the edit is a luxury you rarely have with these type of competitions. Whatever! Good enough I say... I have 30 minutes to get across town to deliver the film. Luckily my brother is a maniac driver and ran a few lights to get me there seconds before the deadline.
On that note, I present you.... "Safe House" (View discretion is advised)
