This channel is dedicated to those who desire to see not only resultant videos through the use of free tools in Linux but also for those who want to see some tutorials, videos and information related to creating videos with open-source software such as:

Cinelerra - The closest to the big commercial names available for Linux. Actively being developed. There is a sharp learning curve with this one and it's power-hungry needing lots of computer. Yet the results are very well worth it. All videos by myself which I place in this channel (kschanaman) are produced using Cinelerra

Kino - The DV recording aspect of Cinelerra is still somewhat buggy so Kino fills in that gap. Kino is a lightweight video editing application but it shines in the video capturing department. The combination of Kino and Cinelerra are all one really needs for basic video production.

Blender - A 3-D creation and rendering application which is also capable of producing fully animated 3-D objects for placement in games and within your movies. This one is complicated and I've only just begun learning the ropes. Very deep learning curve as it can produce extremely complicated motion / animation. Used in the production of the movie Shrek (along with some Linux render servers) If one puts in the time on this one, the results you can produce should be rather fantastic.
