Maria Chavez is a sound artist whose installations and live performances focus on the paradox of time and the present moment. She is best known for her work as a turntable-ist, manually treating, marring, and looping records creating romantic and ethereal pieces that in many ways create their own unique personalities... they often feel like stories, just like people.
