Without a major Tahoe storm since the end of 2012, the skiing has been surprisingly quite fun albeit a bit firm. Over President's Weekend, I was able to sneak away from perfecting piste carves and teaching our kids skiing fundamentals to get an hour of adventure in Mott Canyon at Heavenly. Truth be told, I was quite shocked on the snow quality and how there was NOBODY AROUND. It was like having my private ski field on the Saturday of a holiday ski weekend...weird. In any case, skiing was smooth, fast, fun, and consistently steep in the Y, Ernies, North 40, and Hemlock. Some of Nevada's finest terrain...
