Spydeberg Karate Club was established on 12 January 2004 by Jarl Meland (2nd Dan), who also is sensei of the club. Style is Shotokan Karate.

The club has its own dojo and is located in the old Marwin / Little Hall on Fjellheim. The club is approximately 40-50 active members who have the opportunity to train three days a week. The club hosted the Junior Championships (NM) in Shotokan 8 March 2008.

Club Competition is held once in the autumn and once in the spring semester. Gradients of colored belts happens twice a year, before Christmas and before the summer vacation. NTKF-summer camp held

NTKF-summer camp held in Tønsberg in the middle of June, which also takes place Dan-gradation of members in Norway. Dan is the level of black belt. Some members traveling on international training sessions at the end of April to Windsor and in the middle of August to Edinburgh.

Spydeberg Karate Club is a member of the Traditional Karate Federation (NTKF) which was established in 1992 and is affiliated ETKF - European Traditional Karate Federation, and thereby the International Traditional Karate Federation (ITKF). NTKF currently comprises 17 clubs in the eastern region and the Trondheim
