Subcircle
Subcircle is the collaboration between choreographer Niki Cousineau and composer/designer Jorge Cousineau. Since 1998, Subcircle has been working toward a type of performance that focuses heavily on the space in which dance occurs - the theatrical space of the performance, the distance - affective and actual - between audience and performers, and the environment that encompasses both. In each piece, they set out to establish a completely unique atmosphere, using music, movement, set design, lighting, and often, film and video.
