Over 3000 years the ground beneath South Crofty mine has been drawn out for its mineral riches and concentrated ore deposits.

Officially closed in 1998, tin's resurgence in the world market has brought re-operation of the historic site back into contention.

Due massive new development under the Heartlands construction scheme, this short film constitutes an ongoing documentation of the ancient mine during a substantial period of transition, exploring the roots of a vast social history and heritage remaining at the heart of Cornwall's cultural identity.
