This is a short preview for the feature documentary, "This Living Salish Sea", in production now, and coming out this fall, 2014.
This is a film about beauty, about exploring the natural world of the Salish Sea, above and below the water.
This is a film about awakening and coming together, as communities and 1st Nations join forces to oppose a corporate agenda for rapid expansion of fossil fuel extraction from Tar Sands, Thermal Coal, and LNG Fracking, and the massive shipments of all these through the beautiful Salish Sea basin.
This is a film about protecting local ecology, and about the crisis of climate change. The Salish Sea is one of the important planetary flash points in the process of whether we reach the "tipping point", as we stand at this critical crossroad in time and place. Do we continue with "business as usual", or do we make the major changes necessary to protect ourselves, our future generations, and the natural world we love?
This is a film about hope, as regular people explore alternatives in how they live, how they produce and use alternate energy sources, and find better ways to use resources, with implications for a cleaner, safer environment for future generations.
