These wonderful juvenile Harlequin Sweetlips are known to to divers all over South East Asia. There name derives from the fact that there big lips are considered a very tasty delicacy, though I prefer to see them remain on their owner's face!!
When the Sweetlips are very small juveniles, like these, they are in constant rapid motion. So rapid that, generally, unless you take a still photograph, you cannot make out much details. You can see that there is something small, flickering back and forth like a demented butterfly.
I remember that my video camera has a special 'slo mo' function and I though it would be fun to try to capture these fish and see what they look like when we slow them down. It came out really well, and it's wonderful to see these tiny little Sweetlips clearly.
