We want to thank everyone for participating in the first ever X-Factor Filmmakers Short Film Contest. Last night the voting ended and the film "Acceptance" by Kate Zabinsky had the most votes at 434, making it the winning film of the contest. She will be receiving $1,000 and Avid Media Composer editing software.
We really appreciate all of you who helped to kick off our first short film contest and wish you the best of luck. Please keep in touch as we would love to hear about future film projects and you can even blog about your projects when you join our social networking site. xfactorfilm.ning.com
Five of the films from the contest still need to be chosen to join the films on The Garage, mubi.com/garage/films. We are speaking with them now and we will contact you with further details.
We plan on hosting more contests in the future but we need help to do it. We need funds for time spent by volunteers doing online marketing, setting up the contest and more. Please spread the word about our donations page which is at IndieGoGo indiegogo.com/xfactorfilmcontest. Those who donate get perks too! Once we raise enough money we can make the entry fees voluntary.
