The Young Media Makers Project (YMMP) is a community project for young people to be seen and heard through filmmaking. The project will consist of filmmaking workshops with film professionals, held at the Phoenix Youth Centre in Footscray, Melbourne from January to May 2011.

Participants will:
• Learn how to make films;
• Learn how to use professional equipment;
• Develop an idea for their own short film (eg. documentary, narrative, music video and more);
• Contribute videos, photos,thoughts to the Young Media Makers Blog;
• Have an opportunity to be a part of the YMMP Steering Committee

A Young Media Makers Project Blog will be set up so that participants can post videos made at the workshops and so that the public can make comments and be a part of the journey too.
