Sri Venkatesha Seva Samithi Coimbatore, started in 1985 by a group of service minded well wishers, is rendering useful services to GSB Mahajans at large. The main objective of this Samithi is to assist GSB families at the time of grief and distress. The prime service of the Samithi starts with the priority to funeral based activities.

Volunteers of this Samithi, on being informed of a departed soul to the heavenly abode, console the bereaved family and extend all possible assistance towards performing the final rituals as per the GSB tradition and practice.

The Samithi gradually expanded its services by performing other religious activities like conducting Bhajans and Poojas, presenting Educational awards, Matrimonial assistance, etc. for the last many years.

It is worth mentioning that in May 1985, the Samithi conducted "Samooha Upanayanam", a first of its kind in the Coimbatore GSB's history, for the benefit of GSB youths. Besides this, the Samithi has been assisting the outstanding students to avail "Scholarships" as well as "Scholarship Loans for Professional Studies" offered by various charitable institutions.

A "Matrimonial Assistance Committee" was constituted by the Samithi for exchange of information on Brides & Grooms which has helped some of the GSB members for suitable alliance and marriages in the last few years.

The Committee Members have been interacting with GSB Mahajans in and around Coimbatore on various occasions, during which many have expressed their desire to have a GSB Temple for the Community like the ones at many other places.

This desire gained momentum and the "Dream Project" has partially materialized with the purchase of land at the foot hills of the world famous "Maruthamalai Murugan (Subramaniya) Temple". This was possible only with the grace of Lord Sree Venkatesha and the blessings of His Holliness Shrimad Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji.

Timely and whole-hearted contributions/donations made by well wishers from the Coimbatore GSB Community, has greatly helped the Samithi to build an office named "S. V. Seva Mandir" at the Temple site, for which the Committee expresses its sincere gratitude to one and all. Now, the Samithi performs "Sathyanarayana Pooja" on the first Sunday of every month at "S. V. Seva Mandir" for the betterment of all GSB Mahajans.

As a prelude to the construction of GSB Temple, during the Astamangalya Prasnam, Shri A.N. Sreenivasa Pai of Elamakkara (Ernakulam) divined the presence of Lord Shree Lakshmi Narasimha Swami as the Main Deity, Lord Shree Lakshmi Venkatesa Swami as the Utsav Murthi and instructed to perform "Prathishta" at this proposed Temple site. Also, during the Prasnam, the name of Shri Ravikumar Bhat of Cherai (Ernakulam) was confirmed as the Tanthri for the GSB Temple.
