Hardmood is the international version of the traditional german name Hartmut. Google gave me this name when I translated some of my textes with their early translation-services. I got used to it and it became kind of my artistic name. Born in Düsseldorf, Germany in october 1978 I was quite early interested in LEGO, paper airplanes, art-projects and Punk. This drove me to study at The Berlin University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Joachim Sauter (with emphasis Interactive Media) and the University of La Laguna, Canary Islands, Spain. My professors, lecturers, mentors and last but not least the bosses of the Studios I worked at, formed my opinion that there is no problem you can not solve by hard thinking. Everything is possible, you just need a clear vision. Following the roman emperor Marcus Aurelius’ smart words “Always note that nothing stays as it is and remember that nature always changes its forms.” I work on different Design-, (Interactive) Architecture and Media-Art projects. Actually I am fulltime working as an Art Director and Concept Designer for the great design office ART+COM in Berlin. Topicalities are shown in my Weblog (=> hardmood.info).

I love New Media and fresh technology and software gadgets.

After running the Berlin-Marathon I did my thesis (Dipl. Des.) in the form of a digital pilgrimage (grade 1.0) in summer 2007. I am a founding member of the charity organisation Pratham e.V. a non profit organisation that promotes education of slum dwelling children in India. I am on of the organisators of the “Indo-German Business Forum”.
