Thanks for that information Hemant. I'll make sure I visit the place. I'm a journalist and I'm interested in writing a story on how the Istanbul poor in gekecondus are being moved to the outer suburbs as the city tries to modernise.

Thanks James This ares is on the European side of Istanbul. It's name is Balat. I used to take a taxi to Balat. Almost every taxi knows about it. It's quite a big neighbourhood. Most of my pictures were taken in Balat Mahallesi. Wish you lot of fun in
