Welcome to Henderson Images on Vimeo. My name is Demond Henderson. I'm a photographer using this site to display my videos. I was born in Oakland, CA and still reside in the Bay Area. I work as an Aerospace Technician with a background in Electronics. I started a blog to record my progress, and to share my interest in Photography with those whom are passionate and want to learn.

I first picked up a camera when I was about 16. It was a Pentax K1000, owned by my step-father Tony(R.I.P). I didn't shoot much(no money for film), but my most memorable shots from that time were of the collapsed Cypress Freeway structure during the '89 Loma Prieta earthquake.

I enjoy shooting motor sports, HDR's, artistic nudes, and glamour. I plan to try street photography in the near future. Post processing usually includes cropping, exposure, and sharpening using Photoshop Elements 7. Importing and file management is done in Lightroom 2. My HDR'S are processed with Photomatix Pro. My B&W's are processed with Nik Silver Efex Pro.

My gear consists of a Nikon D300s, D40, and D40X. Lenses include Nikon 18-55mm(non-VR), Sigma 70-200/2.8, and a Nikon 35/1.8. For strobes I use a Nikon SB-600 Speedlight, (2) - Vivtar 285HV's, and a 180ws Strobe w/ Softbox. I use Honl light modifiers on my portable strobes.

I only listed my gear for those who want to know what I shoot with. I, like many others, suffer from "gear lust". But, I also realize that the gear is just a tool that helps me in the creative process. I have seen many mediocre images created with far more capable cameras. I still shoot with the "little" D40, which proves that it's not the camera, but the photographer that makes great pictures.

In conclusion, you can follow along with my progress on this great journey that is learning photography. If you learn something - then I'm happy. If not, know that I'm not here to teach anyone - anything. I simply want to log my experiences, so that I can look back later and see how far I've come. I am by no means an expert. The term "Amateur" applies to me since I do this simply because I love it, not to get paid!
