User Bio

Hola Por Qué, we are Ana Escalera and Eduardo G. Villamañán, communication, illustration, design and screenprinting professionals.

The project began unintentionally in 1999, when we met and realized, among other things, that we shared a desire to create. From this need, came our hand-printed t-shirts with designs from our own drawings.

In the screenprinting process, we like that the organic remains present. Since 2002, we have been thinking out ideas by hand and developing them into screenprints in our creative studio.

Apart from working, in the studio we try our best to respect each other and those with whom we collaborate. This is also reflected in the care we take to use environmentally-friendly materials and processes.

We understand design as something made for people by people, something that is a part of daily life and with which we interact, something that is beautiful and preferably, has a sense of humor.

Hola Por Qué somos un estudio-taller dedicado a la serigrafía, único en su especie. Nos importa tanto cuidar al máximo los acabados como los contenidos en todas las piezas que editamos. Nuestro taller es un espacio de investigación y experimentación al servicio de la gráfica, el diseño de producto y la moda. Producimos piezas especiales que requieren de sensibilidad y experiencia. Entendemos la re...producción de obra gráfica sin limitación de soporte ya sea papel, tejidos, madera, porcelana…

Además nos dedicamos a difundir esta hermosa técnica a través de cursos que impartimos en nuestro taller de manera periódica.

Siempre hemos mantenido una actitud de respeto hacia lo que nos rodea y esto incluye animales (incluso los racionales), plantas, cosas, espacios y tiempos. Nuestro oficio lo desempeñamos con mucho amor y sobre todo con mucho humor.
