The only solution I have found is to export to H264 through MPEG Streamclip instead of QuickTime or Compressor. The MPEG Streamclip H264 does not have the annoying comform aperture setting with the irritating dual size of 1280x720 (1248x702). MPEG Streamclip simply gives you a file with only one size: 1280x720. So, this is a workaround that works, but honestly, I expect only the best from Apple, so this whole conform aperture business and the troubles it brings is quite disappointing.

I am uploading a film in 1280x720 to Vimeo and it keeps showing up with black borders.... See it here: http://www.vimeo.com/7367137 The conform aperture settings in QuickTime is set to "Clean", but somehow it looks like Vimeo displays the 1248x702 resolution. The black border is unacceptable. Please help.
