IACOPO DI GIROLAMO
Filmmaker, musician and sketch artist.
CEO & Founder / Filmmaker at Grapevine Studio.
I was born in 1982 in Naples, Italy, right in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea. With an Italian father and a mother who is a mixture of French and English, I’ve always had lots of opportunity and desire to explore different cultures.
I spent my school years in my home city studying fine arts, architecture and sculpture at the Liceo Artistico (an art school). At 18 I moved to the UK to study Film, Media and Video Production at BCUC (now New Bucks College) in the lively student town of High Wycombe.
Since graduating with a 2:1 in 2003 I’ve lived and worked in the UK, Spain and Australia, but more importantly established a filmmaking career that has taken me all over Italy and beyond.
My fluency in Italian, English, Spanish & French and experience within the Italian film industry has also led to many international film & theatre companies employing me as part of their Italian production team.
You can find out more about the projects I’ve created and worked on by going on of my website (iacopodigirolamo.com).
In 2006 I started my musical adventure with SUPERLOWed, an Italian electro-theatrical band I approached initially to create the soundtrack for my first short film “Faccia Comune”.
Now part of the band I play bass, ukulele, xylophone and harmonica as well as directing and editing all the art-videos for our live performances.
In 2009 our book / cd “Storia illustrata dei mezzi di trasporto” (“An illustrated history of transport vehicles”) was released. To promote the album we embarked on a national tour of Italy and also country released two videos, one of them created by English filmmaker Alex Birrell and myself.
This is my work. This is my world. Enjoy!
