Ian Lyman is an entrepreneur, filmmaker and graphic designer. In 1997 at age 21, he co-founded Mediascience, with the goal of creating a new kind of music experience for the emerging world of online music. The result was Sonique, one of the first desktop MP3 players to hit the internet that coupled unparalleled audio fidelity with an entirely new approach to interface design. On it's debut in 1998, Sonique quickly became one of the most popular music applications in the world, attracting millions of users with its intuitive visual style and unique features. In 1999, Lycos, Inc. acquired Mediascience for $70 Million. Since then, Ian has continued to pursue his passion for media and technology, helping to start the artist social networking site DeviantART.com, co-founding a music oriented video game startup, and producing independent films. Today, Ian concentrates on producing and directing films and commercials and doing graphic design for select clients. He is also co-owner of Filmlites Montana, the largest Motion Picture equipment rental company in the Northern Rockies.
