A 3D (not quaternion) Julia set rendering, from the Mandelbulb family of fractal objects. Rendered in C. There are some artifacts here and there.

This is my second rendering of the so called Mandelbub fractal object. It was oversampled, but I wanted to ensure the quality was there, so antialiasing and motion blur were pushed more than needed. However there are some artifacts there due to some math inaccuracies. The rendering was done in regular […]

This is Paradise, a 64 kilobyte realtime rendering demo made in 2004 by rgba demogroup (http://www.rgba.org) for EuskalParty in Spain. You can download the demo and run it yourself here: http://www.rgba.org/prods/rgba_paradise.zip It's made in C (Visual Studio) and uses OpenGL and shaders, but it only […]

This is a new realtime rendering demo, in 4 kilobytes (render engine, models, textures, animations, postprocessing, sound synthetizer and music track). It's written in assembler mostly and uses Directx for rendering. It was done as a colaboration of my group RGBA with my danish friends of TBC. We won […]

This is a little experiment I did last Sunday on rendering with distance fields. It's done in C, and it all fits once more in 4 kilobytes (ie, renderer, model and textures, etc). The idea was to check how interesting celular (voronoi) patterns can get when directly rendered.

This was a realtime rendering demo done in 2005 where everything (meaning music, models, textures, animations, rendeirng engine and application) fit in 60 kilobytes. You can download it from here: http://www.rgba.org/iq/demoscene/productions/rgba_195_95_256.zip (for Windows, and Linux). Most of the […]

This is my contribution to the realtime 4 kilobytes visuals (usually known as "4k intro") competition for Inspire 2008 (held in Spain). It is a set of spheres with radious controlled by the Fourier Transform (without the "fast") of the music. it contains some realtime ambient occlusion and depth of field. […]

This is a non-realtime animation done in 2005. It's made in C, for experimenting with some mathematics. Music from the movie Nikita.

a little realtime rendering (OpenGL) animation made for BcnParty 2007 (Spain). It's an exercise to synchronize maths (Julia sets in this case) to music, and try to evoke something organic. Technical details: all code, animation and music fits in 4 kilobytes (written in C, Visual Studio). It contains […]

hi, this is another procedural experiment, less abstract than usual this time. It's heavily based on perlin noise of course, and some "mathemagics". Written in C. It was more of a technical challenge than anything else... The complete movie was generated from a 4 kilobytes executable (yep, you can download […]

I like it more with this music... The terrain altitudes are a direct visualization of the fft, that's why it matches the sound (no manual work here, just drop a new mp3, and everything will be synchronized also). Only the little camera shacking were synched manually (something to fix). I want to improve […]

This was one of my first non-realtime videos. I tried to let the mzk guide my otherwise random search for shape formulas, parameters and color functions. Pure procedural video, rendered in C. Done in a very special time of my life.
