Shayne Metcalfe
Shayne Metcalfe is a director with national broadcast credits who began creating at a young age. While other kids played baseball Shayne wrote plays and recruited the neighborhood kids as cast members to perform for an audience of parents.

During the teen years Shayne acted in high school plays and commercials. He began dabbled in filmmaking, producing shorts and a stop motion animation.

After graduating from Nutana Collegiate in Saskatoon, Shayne volunteered at Shaw Cable where he began developing filmmaking skills. Shortly after that, Shayne joined the artist run centre Video Verite (now called PAVED). There he produced his first documentary with a small National Film Board of Canada grant.

Shayne’s formal training came from Medicine Hat College where he studied Visual Communications, University of Regina where he studied film and video production and SIAST where he studied Audio Visual Communications and Media Arts.

After completing post-secondary studies Shayne wrote, directed and produced the feature length film “Alien Taxidermy”. The film sparked the idea to start ISEE Motion Picture Company Inc., which Shayne incorporated a few years later.

Shayne began to work in the film industry in the various departments as a Production Assistant, Grip, Sound Recordist, Actor, Art Director, Assistant Director, Foley Artist and Editor.

Shayne is a Director member of the Directors Guild of Canada who has written and directed commercials, corporate and training videos, shorts, and long form drama projects.

Shayne has served on the jury for Flicks Festival and on the committee for Next Fest, and was one of 9 Canadian directors selected by CHRC to create a directors competency chart to be used as a post secondary guide for teaching directing in Canadian universities and educational institutions.

Shayne currently serves on the board of directors for the Saskatchewan Motion Picture Association and the Blaine Lake Library.

Shayne has taught and developed curriculum for Heinze Institute Western College of Art, New Media Campus, Global Info Brokers and the Department of National Defense and delivered the Set Protocol course for SIAST.

In 2006 Shayne took on the role as Head of Creative Affairs for Rain Drop Productions inc.

Shayne continues writing and directing work in the film industry and currently has several projects in development.
