Indy Smith’s tremendously, successful career in media and publishing spans across 14 years. The Harlem native and Parsons University graduate, began her career in 1995 where she spent 4 years at hip hop’s first and legendary magazine, Word Up! She then left joining Today’s Black Woman Magazine as Creative Director, and was asked to join the Celebrity Style Magazine family in 1999 where she eventually became Editor-In-Chief of three top selling hair and beauty magazines: “Hair & Braids”, “Black Celebrity Style” and “Natural Hair”.

After having paved a successful career in publishing, Indy decided to build her own empire, launching her own media and entertainment company, The Kyra Jayne Company Inc. in 2002. “I learned how important it was to be your own brand and that’s why I started my own company", she says.

Today, Indy is the host of a number one radio show, The Midday Invasion, on PNCRadio.fm where the sexy shock-jock and her DJ, Max Carnage, interview some of today’s hottest talent, both established and emerging, in music and television. Indy is also an advice columnist on CherryTV.com (TV for Women about Women) as well as lends her personality to The Tyra Banks Show, and is in the planning stages of launching her own shoe line.
