Iván Sáinz-Pardo (Madrid, 1972) is licensed in direction of cinema and television by the prestigious School of Cinema of Munich (HFF MÜNCHEN).
With only a handful of shorts and more than 150 prizes in film festivals of the whole world, he has monopolized the attention and the international recognition of the public and the critique.

He has got a prenomination to the Academy Awards (Oscar) in 2001, one nomination to the "Deutscher Kurzfilmpreis 2001" (German Oscar) for "Schneckentraum" and the prize for the best European short 2004 with "Simones Labyrinth" in the International Festival of Fantastic Cinema of Brussels.

He has been named "The Best young director of Germany 2002" by the National Cinematographic Institution Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau-Stiftung and he was rewarded by "La Catedra de Cine de Valladolid" and the International Film Festival of Valladolid (SEMINCI) with the Special Award of "Prizes of Cinema Olid Meliá 2003"

Recently he prepares his first full-lenght film and works as scriptwriter at cinema and television.

Con tan solo un puñado de cortometrajes y más de 150 premios en festivales de cine de todo el mundo, ha conseguido acaparar la atención y el reconocimiento internacional del público y la crítica.

Cuenta con una prenominación al Oscar en 2001, una nominación al "Deutscher Kurzfilmpreis 2001" ("Oscar alemán") por "Schneckentraum" (El Sueño del Caracol) y el premio al mejor corto europeo 2004 con "Simones Labyrinth"(El Laberinto de Simone) en el Festival Internacional de Cine Fantástico de Bruselas.

Ha sido nombrado "Mejor director joven de Alemania 2002" por la Institución Nacional Cinematográfica Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau-Stiftung y fue galardonado en el 2003 por la Cátedra de Cine de Valladolid y la Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid (SEMINCI) con la Mención Especial de los "Premios de Cine Olid Meliá"

En el 2004 fue galardonado con el Universal Studios Award, que lo llevó durante dos semanas a los Estudios Universal de Los Ángeles a realizar un Filmmaster.

Actualmente prepara su primer largometraje y trabaja como guionista en cine y televisión.
