Adding keywords to images and filtering on keywords
jAlbum 10 is not only a tool for producing web photo albums, it's also great for organizing your images. This video shows how easy it is to tag images with keywords and search using keywords in jAlbum

I think this is a great addition to jAlbum. The keywords, etc are stored "with the image," but stored with what image(s)? The original used to create the album, the output slide image, the hi-res version or maybe the 'copy' of "include original?"
They are stored with the original images you feed jAlbum with and originals you include in the album but also with the slide images if you check the "Include photographic metadata with generated images" under advanced jAlbum settings->metadata.
We may add another checkbox that only includes xmp metadata with generated images. That would then probably include both slide images, thumbnails and hi-res images. What do you think?
For a busy senior, I want to keep the Status Quo and not have to learn new
procedures and rules! I can, and have done it many times, but I don't have the time or mental energy (which is now going toward a major project) at this
time...or maybe never. If I cannot keep using your site for my photos the way
I have been, then I will probably remove myself from JAlbum...most reluctantly!

I used Jalbum In the past with a different e-mail when I changed carriers I had difficulty trying to access
the program I tried contacting Jalbum a couple of times but I never got a reply I would like to be able to use it again in the future, it was a great way for people to see there kids in sporting activities

I hav'nt Useg Jalbum for some time. Way back I had dialoge with David (?) on including an Excel spreadsheet with relevant extra info to generate different sorting approaches using top pages (pullDown menues) and sidepages with picture names/numbers links to 'lure' images into the 'main' page. At the time I used MS ACCESS to generate lots of html pages for that purpouse. Am I sensing that you have made similar, and better approach, by including the metadata criteria into the images EXIR (or equiv.) info. That is brilliant. (example. "show me all evensen related pictures', or 'show me pictures from 1899'). I would have liked to be able to merge an Excel speadsheet to images at loading into Jalbum.
Am I too demanding ?
Tube la gran suerte de conocer JAlbum en el 2006 gracias a que vino de obsequio en una revista, en versión free, lo instale y se convirtio en mi unica herramienta familiar para mis fotografías...
Ya es tiempo de que JAlbum tenga una versión en castellano, para su mejor comprensión por mi país...pues siempre se me instala en ingles limitandome en su uso.

Puede cambiar JAlbum a tu idioma por primera presión en + CTRL y elegir el idioma en el menú de idiomas

You can change jAlbum to your language by first pressing CTRL+, then pick your language from the language menu
Mycket bra efterlängtad funktion, men för att kunna använda den fullt ut så behövs även möjlighet att söka i färdigt album. Vilket jag inte kunnat finna att det går idag. Är det på gång?

Det finns skins som stöder sök och fler är nog på väg nu när denna funktion finns. Det viktiga till att börja med är att skinnen tar med variabeln ${keywords}. Den byts nämligen ut mot de nyckelord som definierats för en bild.
I hope the tag filter could be also available in the album generated by Jalbum.
May be impossible with only the javascript though.
Yes, some skins that are Javascript based actually support filtering in the final album

@Rod, You can control whether to show file names or numbers in the skin's settings panel. Some skins don't support displaying filenames though. If that's the case with the skin you use, just pick another one or edit the skin and add ${fileName} to the template file of the skin.
But were can i activate in the jalbum settings the search button ? I'm missing this button suddenly.
Fabian, How do you mean? jAlbum starts filtering as soon as you use the filter buttons. There is no need to press a "Search/filter" button. Just hit CTRL+F to open the filter bar.
