James Gregg is a photojournalist who believes in investing in communities through intimate storytelling in words and photographs.
He has been awarded 7 regional Emmy awards for his film, video and multimedia work and has been recognized by Pictures of the Year International, Best of Photojournalism, The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, and others, including Best eBook in POYi in 2013.
James was named 2009 Photojournalist of the Year, Smaller Markets, by the National Press Photographer's Association's Best of Photojournalism. He was named First Runner-Up in 2008.
The Arizona Press Club named him Photographer of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
He is an expert Spanish speaker, majoring in Spanish and Latin American Studies and the University of Kansas, and has lived in Ecuador and Costa Rica.
In 2010 James joined the staff of the San Diego Union-Tribune as a visual journalist specializing in DSLR video and photography.
