Janice’s art depicts a contemporary sense of portraiture bringing her subjects personalities and lifestyles into the piece. Her figurative work explores the relationship between the beauty of the human form and its scale to nature, the world and often its “surprising” surroundings. Utilizing a unique style and experimenting with variety of mediums and surfaces, an expansive diversity allows her to attract a broad audience. Her work has sold over the years through primarily to private collectors in Germany, Greece, Sweden, New York City, California, Massachusetts and Florida.
Trained and educated at Boston University Fine Arts, her career started at Conde Nast NYC for Vogue Magazine’s Promotion/Advertising Department. From there she worked in NYC over 15 years in the Cosmetic and Fragrance industry. In 1993-2003 she left NYC and moved to Mykonos, Greece where she lived, exhibited and sold her oils for 11 years and then returned to the east coast.
With a newborn passion she has been creating a large new body of work as of 2011, permanently back in Massachusetts, reconnecting with her Boston creative roots and deep love of the New England coast.
Available for commission work, and selling privately in small Limited Edition series. Her originals are for sale by appointment only.
