Jason Lester is a filmmaker/visual artist from Los Angeles, CA, splitting his time between there and New York, NY. Raised in a family of filmmakers, Jason knew from a young age what he wanted to do with his life, and he carries with him a passion for film that is deeply instilled.
Inspired by the works of directors ranging from Robert Altman, Jean-Luc Godard and Stanley Kubrick, to the more contemporary films of P.T. Anderson and Spike Jonze, Jason has worked in his short films, documentaries, and music videos to craft an idiosyncratic and unique style and sensibility. Jason is currently in pre-production on a feature-length adaptation of Tao Lin's critically acclaimed novel Taipei.
He studied film at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
In 2011, Jason founded the Resistencia Collective along with some of his friends and collaborators. Resistencia is a group of like-minded artists working to bring the sacred back into everyday life.
