Jay Stansfield
Jay Stansfield was born in 1980 in Nelson, Lancashire in the North West of England.
He is blessed with childlike high notes and a terribly sweet English accent with an 8 octave range, he has been called an upbeat Jeff Buckley with elements of George Harrison. For this Drop Tune session he performed Contact, Trials and Tribulations,
Dollybird, all taken from the album LOVISM released 2011 on WLM and a previously unreleased track called This Was Real.
"Stunning vocal arrangements and performances of psychedelic emotive folk."
‘’What a voice! Killer influences from Supertramp & Queen to Beatles and Beach Boys climbing to a Spectorian Wall of Sound.’’
‘’Always inventive while also feeling classic and steeped in the best of the best of recorded music.’’
‘’I believe that passion and emotion are intrinsically imprinted into recordings while they are being created. ..this is the magic that comes with music and I am determined to keep this burning and alive. I'm scarce with my listening habits and generally only choose music that gives me an emotional kick while at the same time being unconventional and presented differently to the listener.’’ - Jay
