This has some wonderful prank potential. Mute for shorter periods of times, just a second or two, but replace the audio with the censored BEEEEP to make it sound like they're cussing out whichever celebrity was mentioned.

Nice solution, simple, guarantees exactly how many blobs you'll ever have - especially useful if tied to user input you can't control spawning a ton of blobs suddenly. Tiniest of risk for visual pop-out, but I'm over-analyzing - I prefer your solution.
