Jérôme de Gerlache was born in Brussels. He was graduated at the INSAS, in picture section. His real degree, director of photography in the film directed by Jules Eerdekens under the direction of Jaco Vandormael. The title: Multiple Choice.
Big success in shorts films festivals. Jerome began his professional life as a cinematographer. First in advertising, in Belgium, Morocco, and even a brief stint in the United States. In 2006 he traveled and settled in Paris. Before leaving Belgium, he worked as dop of a medium-length film: Anton T, directed by Jean-Denis Claessens. The film will be selected at the detective film festival in Liège in 2009.
In 2007, he decided to become a film director and begins with small commercial projects for the internet. In August 2009, he wrote and directed his first short film. Title: The meeting.

In 2010 he directed a short animated film about Belgium. Country in crisis. He asks Marcel Sel, author specialized in the regional question, to write the screenplay. The challenge: explain Belgium to everyone. The tone: funny, accurate, relevant. Jerome puts the text of Sel in pictures with a motion designer and post on Vimeo and YouTube. Also in 2010 he met the screenwriter Virginie Chanu. They write his first film together. Title: Little lies to please you. Lydia Andrei and Nathalie Calvet sign and launch the development of the film in May 2011. The film is currently in the process of casting the lead roles.
Multiple, Jerome is still working for the advertising. He started working in early 2011 with Hush production and the company will become Iconoclast / Standard Films a few months later.
Jérôme de Gerlache performs parallel to this a series of short portraits of artists opened with the glassblower Jeremy Wintrebert whose film BiG belongs. It will be screened at festivals in England, the United States, and also at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Since June 2012 following the end of writing his first film, he developed other projects in fiction.
In March 2013, Jerome has made a new short film, The flaw, produced by Iconoclast Films with dop Christophe Beaucarne, and Elise Diamant in the lead role.
