User Bio

Budding filmmaker - writer, director, producer.

It is my career ambition to become a Commercial Director in the near future and to one day fulfil my dream of writing and directing a TV Series or full length feature film. With this in mind, I have been acquiring skills and experience useful to this outcome through tertiary study and courses (UTS, NIDA and NYFA); job experiences; and personal experiences, especially travelling.

At University I majored in Advertising – I have always been fascinated by the influence achieved in such a condensed format of image and language. In my past jobs as an Optus Marketing Graduate, and Hybrid TV Marketing Executive, I have been involved with many project teams including: producing advertising and sponsored content for So You Think You Can Dance and Hamish & Andy; event management for Cirque Du Soleil Dralion; and Pink’s Australian Funhouse Tour. I have worked with agencies such as M&C Saatchi, MPG, Jack Morton, Football Federation Australia & Waterfront. In 2008 I particularly enjoyed my involvement in creating a national internal Optus Advertisement Campaign to promote a Christmas Charity that included design for and utilisation of multiple media.

My role at Hybrid TV exposed me to commercial TV via Channel Seven, TiVo and the emerging content on demand platforms that are shifting the way the world watches entertainment. Content is king and I am determined to be part of the world that makes high quality content.

Specialties
Through my studies and career to date I have had the wonderful opportunity to glean insights and experience in how these projects and processes are managed and put together. I have had exposure within teams to the business side of projects – campaign and event management, writing briefs, planning and pulling elements together for final products – but I have always had an affinity with the “creative side of the table” and yearn to develop these skills further.

I am now refocusing my skills and am becoming a writer, producer and director while studying at New York Film Academy in 2011.
