Jose Francisco Salgado is an Emmy-nominated astronomer, experimental photographer, and visual artist who uses art as a vehicle to communicate science. His science and symphony films have been presented more than 50 times in 13 countries with orchestras such as the Boston Pops, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. In 2010 Salgado and Tom Bailey (former Thompson Twins leader) formed the audiovisual ensemble, the Bailey-Salgado Project (BaileySalgadoProject.com).
