John Goshorn was born and raised in a rural Virginia town an hour from the nearest movie theater. Currently, he is completing post-production on THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, a microbudget digital feature film about the cost of the American Dream, which he wrote, directed, and co-produced. He has also starred in the independent feature WHEN THE SUN HITS, and the recent short CREEPY KID. In addition, he has written and directed two narrative shorts and one short documentary, as well as writing, producing, shooting, and editing countless commercials, promotional spots, paid programming segments, and feature stories for ABC and PBS television affiliates in North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida.
John earned a Bachelor of Science in Media Arts and Design from James Madison University in 2005, and a Master of Fine Arts in Film from the University of Central Florida in 2012, in addition to completing a professional certificate program in the Sanford Meisner technique from Truthful Acting Studios. He currently teaches Storytelling: Script into Image at Full Sail University.
