That plate also serves as ultrasonic dust remover. The cables, I suppose, feed the ultrasonic transducer.

It would be interesting to do a raw still photo and downsamble it with photoshop to 1080p. And a clip of the same thing and extract a frame and compare.

But if Canon implemented a better pixel interporlation algorithm i.e. bicubic to convert from 22 Mp to 1080p, how better would the image be without "surgery"? And with "surgery"?
