Junior Lone Star Football Club prides itself as being one of the premier amateur soccer clubs based in Southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The club was founded in 2001 by Liberian refugees who migrated here to the United States due to civil war in their country. Due to the fact that all of the kids on the team at that time were from Liberia, the founders decided to name the club "Junior Lone Star FC" after the Liberian national football team.
The club has since grown from a team of 11 players to three active teams of nearly 100 players. The club has become more diverse with the addition of players from other West African countries as well as Americans. The First Team will start its inaugural season in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the Reserves will participate in the USCS National Adult League while the U19/20s participates in the USL Super-20 League.
In July 2008, the Club won its first Under 23 State Championship and the subsequent Regional Championship (Region I) thereby earning an automatic qualification to the USASA Nationals were we lost to eventual winners (Ela Elite FC) in the semi-finals.
The Club is proud to be affiliated with the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), the Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association (EPA), the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
