Jody has a way of combining words and images that is unique. He puts together classical drawing skills with wit and a crazy wisdom. His ideas and images are like tattoos for the mind - once you've seen them, you don't forget them. A constant innovator in materials and typographic presentation, Jody is always working on new ideas and approaches to his artwork. Lately he has done a crazy animated Hip-Hop video about Owls, the cover for the 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' album for band Phoenix, a signature shoe, a shopfront covered in mirrored smoke, backdrops and cartoon T-shirts for band Turboweekend, a zine for Apartamento magazine about orange juice, a book of 700 of his own drawings right back to 2001 for Swiss publisher Nieves, illustrations for the New York Times, designs for his own fashion label in Japan - 'Black Humours', watercolours of C3P0 and R2D2 for an official Star Wars art show in Tokyo, pro-democracy posters for a Copenhagen organisation, an animated pop video with thousands of dancing stick figures for band Pollyn, T-shirts for Stussy USA and developed a new approach to making hand-made typography using jewel-like, flowing watercolour. He also finds time to adjust and needlessly clean and polish his racing bicycles, look fruitlessly for extra large size hats and fantasise about living in the English countryside again.
